PlatinumGames still plans to make live service games despite Babylon Fall's fall


PlatinumGames has said it is "incredibly heartbroken" about the destiny of its live help game, Babylon's Fall, after Square Enix declared its conclusion recently.


Subsequent to stressing that he was unable to discuss Babylon's Fall because of its distributing contract with Square Enix, PlatinumGames' President Atsushi Inaba advised VGC that he acknowledged that the choice to close down the game simply a year after it sent off "set off some failure, perhaps outrage" with its players.


"The main thing we can remark based on here in conditions of the conclusion of the Babylon's Fall administration itself, is that this lamentable end could have been something that had set off some failure, maybe perhaps outrage, to our committed fans and players," he said.


"Furthermore, any failure that we could have caused for our fan base is something we regret, the way that we drove our devoted fans to feel as such as a designer. Giving any opinion other than delight and fun in our manifestations to players is something that we're extremely upset about by any stretch of the imagination as a designer."


Curiously, Inaba said the disappointment hadn't changed the studio's impending plans, including those connecting with live help advancement.


"There's a great deal that we gained from this experience, and it's not changed our tentative arrangements or viewpoint pushing ahead with respect to doing live help games by any stretch of the imagination. Live assistance games are most certainly something we would like to do and invest our energy in pushing ahead," he said.


Square Enix reported it was finishing administration on Babylon's Fall only one year after launch(opens in new tab) two or three weeks back.
